Kindergarten Program (4 - 5 years)

Independent Innovators, Future Builders

Descriptions

Our pre-kindergarten program honors children as sophisticated thinkers while ensuring school readiness through play-based, joyful learning. Long-term project work spans weeks or months, requiring planning, research, collaboration, and reflection that mirrors real-world problem-solving. Morning meetings expand to include complex discussions with children taking turns as discussion leaders. Literacy accelerates through authentic reading and writing - creating illustrated stories, conducting research, and beginning to read simple texts. Mathematical thinking becomes more formal while remaining concrete through games, real-world applications, and construction investigations. Science investigations become systematic with predictions, experiments, observations, and conclusions while maintaining wonder and curiosity. Pre-kindergarten children take on meaningful classroom responsibilities, mentor younger children, and participate in community decision-making. Social skills grow sophisticated as children navigate complex friendships, advocate for themselves, and show empathy for others. Our outdoor program provides physical challenges while fostering environmental appreciation through gardening and nature study. The program balances specific school-readiness skills with joy and creativity, ensuring children enter kindergarten as confident, enthusiastic learners.
